What I just can't seem to understand is how something suddenly becomes not just a trend, but almost a fashion cult item among teenagers! Right now two of my daughters & their friends are going through a frenzy of getting sooo excited everytime they go into a store that sells Converse trainers! Even in the depths of winter, Converse appear to be ultra cool & trendy to wear even though they are flat and uninsulated against the cold weather!! Maybe teenagers just don't feel the cold like we do or maybe they're learning how to become slaves to fashion just so that they can look & be cool!
