Well, it’s almost upon us again, Sunday 14th March is Mother’s Day in Ireland and the UK and if you’re anything like me then you’ll have to start dropping hints about the little things that you would like to receive! It’s the one day of the year that I actually don’t have to lift a hand to do anything at all, I usually get totally spoiled by hubby and the kids, starting with breakfast in bed – which usually ends up all over the bed when Carrie decides that she should jump in to shower me with hugs and kisses!
Then for lunch / dinner it’s always a full, traditional roast dinner with all the trimmings made by everybody, expect me, yippee! – how joyous it is to sit back, relax and watch as everyone does their best to make it a really special occasion. It gets even better after our meal as I don’t even have to do the clearing up or washing up, I just have to sit back and relax with a delicious glass of Cabernet Sauvignon…..oh how I wish it was Mother’s Day every day!
So this year, I’ve decided to post my little “wish list” here of things I would love to receive…..I have to cover all options so that I don’t get another teapot even though I never, ever drink tea…..sometimes a little guidance helps. Actually in my attempt to do some guidance at Christmas for some of the extra little gifts that the kids get me, I bought a new cookbook for myself (one that I wanted anyway) and gave it to Aidan to put away so he could “pretend” he bought it and get one of the kids to give it to me as a “Surprise” – well it turned out to be a great surprise, as he forgot all about it and didn’t know where he put it so I didn’t get it till I found it on top of a cupboard at the end of February!! Sometimes, all the best planning just doesn’t matter as life just has it’s own agenda.
So here’s my list….
…..just because I love all things Clinique, and it’s nice to get a few “little” surprises in a gift bag!
……just because I think it looks so cute and gorgeous!
Well, that’s it for starters, I think I’ll do a little more looking around to see what I could add to my list!
